This space quickly became our little content production hub. Before we could start recording, there was quite a bit of work to do behind the scenes. We planned where each piece of equipment should go, worked out the signal flow, organised and routed the cabling, and set up the lighting and cameras to make the space suitable for different types of content.

A big part of the process was figuring out how to make the setup flexible. The same space needed to work for voice-overs, exercise videos, podcasts and other productions without having to completely rebuild it every time. We also cleaned up the existing cable mess and reworked the audio routing to reduce monitoring latency, making it easier for performers to hear themselves while recording.

Once everything was up and running, the space saw quite a bit of action. We used it to record exercise videos for Fallsafe, an app designed to help people identify and reduce their risk of falls. I also recorded the voice-overs used to guide users through the exercises.

The space wasn't just for recording, though. We also used it for script read sessions for one of our short films, giving the team a chance to read through scenes, test the dialogue and make changes before heading onto set.
