When the Wind Settles《等风停》

As she moves through the island.

This was my first time directing a short film, taking me through the project from early story development to the final day of production. I started by developing the initial synopsis, which became the foundation for the script, before working with the team to reshape it after a script read revealed issues with the pacing and dialogue just one week before filming. Together, we rewrote parts of the script while preparing the shot list, call sheet and shooting schedule under a tight deadline. On set, I had to balance the plan with decisions that made sense in the moment. For example, we combined two scenes set in the same room, simplifying the coverage while making the sequence feel more connected. As my first experience directing, the project it was eye opening . I realised that I would not always have the perfect answer, and sometimes I simply had to make a call and move forward. This helped me become more decisive and comfortable taking responsibility for my decisions. There were so many moving parts that had to come together with many amazing people that made it happen.
